Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates and adjusts CNC machine tools and related manual machinery to perform standard, repetitive machining operations while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. You will interpret blueprints, follow detailed work instructions, and ensure that all machining processes meet specifications through careful monitoring, measurement, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust CNC machine tools and other dedicated or manual machinery to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations, including milling, drilling, tapping, and turning.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and work instructions to produce parts that meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Observe machining operations continuously to ensure parts meet specifications and processes run efficiently.
• Take precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Detect malfunctions in machines or processes, determine the causes of operating errors, and implement appropriate resolutions.
• Replace worn tools in machines promptly to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
• Complete preventative maintenance requirements on machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Adhere to established quality assurance procedures and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations to sustain safe operations for yourself and others in the work area.
• Support continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken, irregularities encountered, and any ongoing needs.
• Document events and production activities by completing Production and Quality logs accurately and on time.
• Accept ownership of new and different requests, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support changing production needs.
• Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments by suggesting improvements and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor, carry out, and abide by company policies in all aspects of daily work.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of CNC and/or machine operating experience.
• Ability to operate and adjust CNC machines, including lathe and mill equipment.
• Basic machining knowledge, including milling, drilling, tapping, and turning operations.
• Experience using calipers and micrometers to take precise measurements.
• Ability to perform basic machine setup tasks or adjustments as needed.
• Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and operating errors.
• Commitment to following quality assurance procedures and documenting production and quality data accurately.
• Strong awareness of safety procedures and ability to consistently follow safety regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members across shifts and document shift handoffs effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC setup experience is a plus and will be considered favorably.
• Experience working with CNC lathes and mills in a production environment.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 environments or other formal quality systems.
• Comfort working with standard machining tools and measurement equipment.
• Willingness to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Mills, WI.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Lake Mills,WI.
