Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax AccountantPosition SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.Conduct tax research and analyze the impact of changing tax laws and regulations.Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize compliance.Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions and supporting documentation.Support audits and respond to inquiries from taxing authorities.Maintain accurate tax records and workpapers.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors regarding tax-related matters.Review financial information to ensure tax filings are accurate and complete.Identify process improvements and assist in implementing efficiencies within the tax function.Mentor and support junior staff members as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing.3 years of public accounting or corporate tax experience.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.Experience preparing complex tax returns and conducting tax research.Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Preferred ExperiencePublic accounting background.Experience with multi-state tax compliance.Knowledge of tax provisions and ASC 740.Exposure to partnerships, S corporations, and high-net-worth individual taxation.BenefitsCompetitive salary and bonus opportunityComprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO and paid holidaysProfessional development and CPA supportHybrid or flexible work arrangementsSalary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 (depending on experience and credentials)Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
