Job Title: Fine Grade Operator

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Equipment Operators to join our team and perform essential work for pipe and grade crews. This role involves operating heavy machinery, such as excavators and dozers, to support civil construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate Excavators and Dozers efficiently.
• For pipe crew operators: Utilize excavators to dig trenches for pipe installation.
• For grade crew operators: Operate loaders, excavators, and dozers to perform rough and fine grading tasks.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including excavators and dozers.
• Experience in excavation and grading within civil construction.
• Ability to perform tasks such as clearing, backfilling, grade work, and remediation.
• Knowledge of operating machinery using GPS technology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy Caterpillar Equipment such as Dozers and Excavators.
• Experience installing pipes and storm water lines.
• Experience in rough grading and commercial construction.

Work Environment

Operators work 40-60 hour weeks, depending on weather conditions, from Monday to Friday between 7 am and 5 or 6 pm. The work is based in the Williamsburg, Hampton, and Newport News area, offering varied projects and consistent hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toano, VA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Toano,VA.
