Job Title: Oncology Infusion RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid state license preferred Certifications: BLS Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC) Must-Have: Previous experience in oncology and infusion therapy. Ability to manage various oncology diagnoses and treatment protocols. Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. Description: The Oncology Infusion RN will provide care in an outpatient setting. The shift is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and other oncology-related treatments. The nurse must be proficient in managing ports and have knowledge of various chemotherapy regimens. Patient ratio is typically 1:7. Oncology diagnoses include but are not limited to GI/GU issues requiring infusion, migraine protocols, and antibiotic treatments. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. The candidate should be familiar with monitoring patients for side effects and managing complications associated with chemotherapy. Patient education and support is a key component of the role. Floating to meet facility needs within the scope of practice may be required. Candidates should be able to accommodate a block schedule. No weekend shifts are required for this position. The nurse will participate in handling emergencies and coordinating care as needed. Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to recognize and act on abnormal lab values.
