Job Overview
Become a vital member of our ground transport team in Clinton, Maryland as an ALS Paramedic. In this role, you will provide essential medical support and care for patients being transported to various medical facilities, collaborating closely with EMTs and Critical Care nurses.

Limited-Time Offer: $8,000 Sign-on Bonus - This bonus is structured as follows: $3,000 upon successful completion of orientation and probation; $2,500 after one year; and $2,500 after 18 months.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in achieving departmental goals and objectives while adhering to established policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with governmental and accreditation requirements.
- Provide direct patient care based on assessments of physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs, while evaluating outcomes and applying patient-centered care principles.
- Effectively communicate clinical information about patients in both verbal and written formats. Accurately document relevant details in the patient's medical record, demonstrating consistent and effective documentation practices.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families, offering basic comfort measures during procedures. When necessary, provide environmental support to facilitate timely patient admissions or transfers, and identify opportunities for enhancing the care environment.
- Offer emotional support to patients and families during health crises, acting as an advocate for their needs.
- Deliver expert paramedic care in ambulances for a variety of patient types, including adults and pediatrics.
- Collaborate with online medical control physicians to manage the care of complex patients during transport.
- Participate in the orientation of new staff members.
- Contribute to the program's safety management system by providing feedback and engaging in safety initiatives.
- Engage in the MedSTAR Transport safety program.
- Administer and manage pharmacologic agents and intravenous fluids during inter-hospital transports.
- Ensure safe operations during ambulance-related activities in coordination with the Emergency Vehicle Operator.
- Attend meetings and serve on committees, representing the department and organization in community outreach efforts.
- Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic program is required.
- Successful completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course prior to the end of orientation is required.
- 1-2 years of experience as a National Registry Paramedic (NRP) is preferred.
- NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic certification is required.
- Paramedic certification in the District of Columbia within 30 days is required.
- Paramedic license in Maryland within 30 days is required.
- CPR certification (including BLS and NRP) from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days is required.
- Additional unit or specialty certifications may vary by department.
- Health Services ACLS certification is required.
- Health Services PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required.
- ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support Certification within 180 days is required, or
- TPATC - Transport Prof Adv Trauma Course within 180 days is required, or
- PHTLS - Prehospital Trauma Life Support Certification within 180 days is required, or
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course within 180 days is required, or
- ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care Nurse Certification within 180 days is required.
- NIH Stroke Scale - NIHSS certification within 90 days is required.
- Completion of FEMA ICS 100 Course (FEMA IS-100.c Introduction to the Incident Command System) prior to the end of orientation is required.
- Completion of FEMA ICS 200 Course (FEMA IS-200 ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents) prior to the end of orientation is required.
- A valid State Driver's License in good standing is required.
- No more than four points on the driver's license, maintaining a satisfactory driving record (no more than four points).
- Completion of an approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (e.g., CEVO EVOC) prior to the end of orientation is required.
- Proven ability to mentor and precept others.
- High level of clinical competence demonstrated.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $28.58 - USD $46.94 per hour.
