Senior executive leadership position responsible for leading the firm's Investment Department by developing efficient, scalable, and well-controlled investment operations that support Financial Planners and deliver an exceptional client experience. This role oversees the department's people, systems, workflows, technology, investment platforms, trading operations, and strategic initiatives. The CIO is accountable for understanding every aspect of the department, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and implementing processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability as the firm grows. Who We Are Looking For A candidate who values integrity, hard work, and always puts clients’ needs first Strong self-motivation and self-discipline Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Investment industry experience or related experience, with a desire to continue learning Client-first focus and dedication Strong interpersonal and communication skills Professional and service-first attitude through busy and stressful periods Results-driven individual who takes ownership of responsibilities and outcomes Strong planning and organizational skills, including effective prioritization and resource management while balancing multiple projects from multiple Financial Planners with varying deadlines Main Responsibilities Lead the development and evolution of the firm’s investment philosophy, portfolio construction, and strategic investment direction in partnership with executive leadership Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Investment Department by maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all departmental functions, systems, workflows, and personnel. Establish performance standards, improve operational efficiency, implement scalable processes, and ensure the department consistently delivers accurate, timely, and high-quality support to Financial Planners and clients. Build and maintain investment models for various platforms, including the Strategic Asset Management program, variable annuities, and managed 401(k)s. Support Financial Planners in implementing the firm's investment strategies by providing guidance on portfolio construction, investment platforms, model portfolios, and operational best practices. Oversee the firm's investment research and due diligence process, ensuring recommendations are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with the firm's investment philosophy and operational standards. Oversee Investment Department functions and personnel supporting paperwork processing, rebalancing, trading, investment strategies, liquidation strategies, account takeovers, investment analysis, account reviews, value-add internal reports, and coordination with other departments and groups Manage trading functions, execution, and oversight across all investment platforms, including managed account platforms, brokerage, annuities, and 401(k) accounts Produce timely and impactful client communications related to rebalancing, quarterly updates, and other market events Provide investment reviews and commentary for prospect account takeover opportunities and client review meetings Required Skills & Experience CFA or other professional designations preferred FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses requiredPrior experience with investment management, research, and trading Prior experience with leadership in investment management Strong analytical skills Strong organizational skills Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, both internally and externally Experience with, or ability to learn, Redtail CRM, ClientWorks, Morningstar, YCharts, Fi360, and other applicable programs.
