The Kids Stuff Team Member helps create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Kids Stuff area. Our team is responsible for the health, safety, supervision, and overall well-being of children in our care.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time; average of five 4-hour shifts per week
Candidates must be available to work:
Weekends between 8:30 a.m.–2:15 p.m.
Weekdays between 3:00 p.m.–7:45 p.m.
Holidays and other flexible shifts as needed

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, compassionate care for members’ children and the children of guests and visitors, in accordance with Kids Stuff Operating Guidelines

Supervise children and lead age-appropriate activities that support social, physical, and developmental growth

Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for every child

Enforce Kids Stuff rules, policies, and regulations consistently and appropriately

Complete accurate child check-in and check-out procedures and maintain attendance records

Promote healthy habits and positive hygiene practices with children

Follow all required hand-washing, toy-sanitizing, diaper-changing, and cleaning procedures

Keep childcare spaces clean, organized, sanitary, and free of clutter

Disinfect toys, surfaces, and equipment as needed throughout each shift

Communicate professionally with parents or guardians about their child’s activities and experience during their visit

Identify and report equipment that needs repair or replacement

Maintain general knowledge of Kids Stuff programs and promote them to members and guests when appropriate

Work collaboratively with Kids Stuff team members, leaders, and other departments

Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Kids Stuff Coordinator or Youth Director.

Attend required staff meetings and trainings

Maintain a neat, professional appearance by wearing the required Genesis uniform and name badge

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant childcare, youth-programming, or customer-service experience may be considered

Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred; team members hired without certification must complete required in-house training

Experience working with children in a safe, organized, and engaging setting

Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities

Strong communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive in busy or stressful situations

Ability to interact courteously and effectively with children, parents, guests, and team members

Dependable, team-oriented, flexible, and comfortable working a part-time schedule

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to actively engage with children throughout the shift. Team members must be able to:

Stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and move from the floor to a standing position with ease

Remain active and on their feet for up to 95% of the shift

Lift, lower, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds

Use simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching, and other movements required for childcare and basic administrative tasks

Complete paperwork, use a computer or phone, and perform basic filing or recordkeeping duties

See, hear, and speak clearly enough to communicate effectively, supervise children, and maintain a safe work environment
