Job Description

RF Engineering Technician (Defense & Space Systems)

The Mission: Precision in Every Signal

At NuWaves, we don’t just design cutting-edge technology; we bring it to life. As an RF Engineering Technician, you are the hands-on force ensuring that our Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave solutions perform flawlessly in the most demanding environments—from tactical ground communications to advanced satellite payloads. Your work directly supports the US Military and the rapidly expanding commercial Space sector, ensuring our heroes and our assets stay connected.

Why NuWaves?

We offer a high-energy environment where your technical skills meet real-world impact. At NuWaves, you will find:

  • Hands-On Innovation: Work on the front lines of product development for RF power amplifiers, filters, and complex up/downconverters.
  • Career Acceleration: We are committed to your growth. You’ll have the opportunity to increase your technical knowledge, develop leadership skills, and master the business systems of a premier defense contractor.
  • A Culture of Excellence: Join a team that values precision, accountability, and a shared mission to support those who protect us on Earth and in Space.
The Role: Test, Troubleshoot, and Deliver

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented technician to join our Product Development team. You will work side-by-side with elite Engineers and Project Managers to characterize, debug, and perfect the next generation of RF hardware.

In this role, you will:

  • Master the Bench: Utilize a full suite of high-end electronic equipment—including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters—to test and characterize complex circuits.
  • Solve Complex Puzzles: Dive deep into electronic assemblies to debug, troubleshoot, and repair systems down to the component level.
  • Bridge Design and Reality: Interpret technical design documents and maintain meticulous records to ensure our products meet rigorous DoD and Space-grade standards.
  • Drive Efficiency: Work within a fast-paced team to deliver high-quality tasks on schedule, contributing directly to the success of mission-critical programs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Learn the NuWaves Quality Management System and contribute your own ideas to make our processes faster, leaner, and better.
What You Bring to the Table
  • The Technician’s Mindset: 1 to 6 years of experience in RF, the defense industry, or a military communications background.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and RF test equipment.
  • Precision Skills: Strong soldering skills are a major plus (we will help you reach J-STD-001 proficiency within your first 3 months).
  • Mission Focus: A "get it done" attitude with a commitment to quality and efficiency.
  • Adaptability: The ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed in a dynamic lab environment.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • A passion for RF technology and a desire to support the US Military and Space exploration.
