Nuclear & Radiological Security Expert for AI Training

Apply nuclear and radiological security expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world technical input. This remote contract role focuses on setting rigorous standards for nuclear-safety evaluations, information abstraction, and escalation protocols. Prior AI experience is not required. Key Responsibilities

• Define evaluation scope and standards for nuclear and radiological safety, nonproliferation, and security.
• Create frameworks for safely abstracting sensitive or classified information in technical contexts.
• Set escalation thresholds and protocols for nuclear-security risks in research and operational scenarios.
• Provide guidance for benchmarking nuclear and radiological risk assessments and strengthening nonproliferation safeguards.
• Review, refine, and validate technical safety guidelines used to support advanced-model training.
• Work with multidisciplinary stakeholders to protect national and global security interests while supporting legitimate scientific progress.
• Document information-security and compliance best practices, including decision rationales for nuclear-domain work.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in nuclear physics, radiological safety, nonproliferation, or nuclear safeguards. Senior contributors will ideally have 8 to 20 years of experience.
• Advanced degree, professional certification, or equivalent operational experience in a nuclear or radiological field.
• Experience with government agencies, national laboratories, regulatory bodies, or academic research involving nuclear security or policy.
• Thorough knowledge of nonproliferation frameworks, international safeguards, and weapons-relevant controls.
• Established credibility and recognition within nuclear or radiological safety communities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to varied audiences.
• Experience contributing to or overseeing security evaluations, compliance protocols, or risk assessments in sensitive technical environments.

• Remote independent-contractor engagement.

• $50 to $90 per hour.
