Full Stack Web Developer

FireFly Robotics, Inc.

Full Stack Web Developer – PHP & React

| FireFly Robotics | Salt Lake City, UT

Build software that drives autonomous robots in the real world.

FireFly Robotics is the world leader in autonomous fairway mowing — and we're growing. Since 2010, we've been engineering fully automated harvesters and robotic field mowers used daily on premier golf courses and sports turf facilities nationwide. Now we're looking for a Full Stack Web Developer to help build the command-and-control interface at the heart of our fleet operations.

What You'll Be Building

You'll support the web interface and PHP backend that operators rely on to dispatch machines, monitor live status, and review machine activity in real time. This isn't a hand-it-off-at-the-boundary role — you'll work across the full stack and own features end to end.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of production PHP (modern features: strict types, enums, typed properties, readonly, and more)
Strong React experience — function components, hooks, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit and RTK Query
Solid grasp of OOP design patterns and SOLID principles in practice
Database fluency — schema design, query optimization, spotting the N+1 before it hurts
Application security fundamentals (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, auth/authz)
Automated testing on both sides of the stack (PHPUnit/Pest and Jest/Vitest)
Experience working in large, established codebases

Bonus Points For

Real-time data experience (WebSockets, SSE, MQTT)
IoT, fleet management, or telemetry systems
AWS, Docker/Vagrant, Redis, SQS
Bref / serverless PHP
Static analysis tools (PHPStan, Psalm)

Why FireFly Robotics?

We're a disciplined, fast-moving engineering team solving real problems in the physical world. Our products run outdoors, in real conditions, every day — and the software you build directly impacts how well they perform. If you want your code to matter beyond the screen, this is the place.

Location: On-site, Salt Lake City, Utah

Type: Full-time
