Job Overview

We are seeking a General Clerk I to join our team. You will execute highly structured, repetitive administrative and basic financial tasks by strictly adhering to prescribed procedures and utilizing standard office equipment. While advanced subject-matter expertise is not required, you will consistently exercise independent judgment to select and apply the appropriate procedural steps for tasks encompassing records management, mail processing, and account posting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Records and Document Management: Organizing, coding, and accurately maintaining extensive filing systems (e.g., alphabetical records) to ensure seamless document retrieval and data integrity.
• General Administrative Support: Performing routine operational duties, including processing incoming mail and effectively operating standard office machinery (such as photocopiers, facsimiles, and specialized mailing equipment) to support daily departmental functions.
• Basic Financial Processing: Executing introductory-level accounting tasks, which include calculating charges and accurately posting simple transactions to both individual and departmental accounts.
• Communications and Technology Operation: Serving as a point of contact using multi-line telephone and voicemail systems, alongside the operation of minimal computer software programs to facilitate workflow.
• Procedural Compliance and Independent Judgment: Navigating a series of highly detailed, specific steps to complete repetitive clerical tasks, applying individual judgment to independently select the correct procedural pathway for each distinct assignment without requiring deep subject-matter knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of one (1) year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
• Any related certifications.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• A current Secret clearance is highly desired.
