Role snapshot

• Department: Sales Engineering
• Primary focus: Improve customer outcomes on Sinker EDM machinery through applications expertise, training, and pre-sales demonstrations.
• Scope: Work mainly in your assigned region with the ability to support North American customers when needed.

What you’ll tackle

• Review, evaluate, and solve EDM application issues independently at customer facilities.
• Provide fast, professional responses to customer reports; loop in other MC Machinery experts when collaboration is beneficial.
• Create and implement application solutions using sound judgment and hands-on testing.
• Diagnose application-related issues via telephone when remote support is sufficient.
• Drive revenue by identifying sales opportunities and delivering compelling demonstrations and test cuts.
• Design and deliver customer-specific training, including high power processing instruction; occasionally train MC Machinery team members.
• Document work comprehensively and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
• Contribute to applications-driven marketing initiatives that help secure new business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Willingness to travel as needed; current valid driver’s license required.

Background we value

• Preferred: 2+ years operating, programming, setting up, and developing processes for EDM machinery.
• Considered: 2+ years of machine shop experience with willingness to train into the role.

Work environment

• Mostly indoors with potential exposure to weather changes (heat, cold, wind, rain, sun).
• Near moving mechanical equipment with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Frequent driving and possible overtime; ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid license are required.

Physical demands

• Very frequent bending at the waist; upper-body twisting; standing; speaking; hearing; frequent kneeling.
• Repetitive hand use (squeezing, keyboarding) and crouching.
• Frequent lifting/carrying 1–10 lbs; recurrent 11–20 lbs; occasional 21–50+ lbs.
• Constant pushing/pulling 1–50 lbs; infrequent over 50 lbs using handcarts or other wheeled devices.
• Good visual and color acuity required.
