Job Summary: This role involves performing therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring high-quality images are provided to radiologists and physicians for analysis. Job Responsibilities: Operate cameras that detect and map radioactive substances in patients to produce diagnostic images. Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters. Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals in line with established protocols. Adhere to radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history. Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel, locking/tagging out equipment as necessary. Assist in keeping the department clean and organized. Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education: Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Experience: No prior experience is required. Physical Requirements: Continuous standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances. Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication. Ability to distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or machinery malfunctions through hearing. Regular lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Frequent patient lifting/moving. Regular reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs. Occasional color identification and distinction through vision. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms. Rarely kneeling or sitting.
