Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing team. The CMA will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty practice.


Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during office procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks including injections, venipuncture, catheter care, specimen collection, EKGs, bladder scans, and other duties within scope of practice.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and equipment are stocked and sanitized.
• Process laboratory specimens and coordinate diagnostic testing.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and prescription refill requests according to office protocols.
• Schedule follow-up appointments, procedures, and diagnostic testing as needed.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, pre-operative and post-operative instructions, and general urologic care under provider direction.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow OSHA infection control and workplace safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support practice operations.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification, or within 90 days of hire, required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 90 days of hire, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Additional Requirements


Must be willing to float to different locations as needed.
