Core Responsibilities
  • Evaluation & Assessment: Administer standardized tests, clinical observations, and interviews to determine eligibility for special education and related services.
  • IEP Development: Establish individualized goals for students and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  • Direct Intervention: Provide one-on-one or small group therapy to improve fine motor skills and sensory processing.
  • Environmental Modifications: Recommend adaptive seating, specialized technology, and physical adjustments to make classrooms accessible.
  • Consultation: Train teachers and paraprofessionals on how to seamlessly integrate therapeutic strategies and sensory breaks into daily routines.
  • Documentation: Track student progress, write comprehensive evaluation reports, and maintain compliant records according to state and federal timelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid state occupational therapy license and adherence to state board regulations.
  • Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and a deep understanding of childhood development.
