Exciting opportunity for a Special Education Teacher looking to make a lasting impact in a supportive elementary setting! A contract position is available for a dedicated professional to work on-site with a welcoming school community near Peyton, CO. This full-time role spans the academic year, providing consistent hours (37.5 per week) in one location, ensuring you can build meaningful relationships with both colleagues and students.
This role focuses on supporting elementary students within a center-based classroom for those with significant emotional disabilities and behavioral needs. Your expertise will guide children in achieving their academic and social-emotional goals, fostering an environment of encouragement and growth. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and enjoy paid administrative time, including team meetings and indirect service hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Special Education Teacher license (required)
- Experience or passion for working with students with serious emotional and behavioral needs
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills
- Ability to work on-site, full-time throughout the assignment period
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies within a self-contained classroom
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction to meet the diverse needs of elementary learners
- Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom climate
- Collaborate regularly with classroom aides, related service providers, and families
- Participate in paid admin hours, including team meetings and planning sessions
