Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping the educational experiences of students ages 11-16. This full-time Special Education Teacher role begins in July 2026 and continues through July 2027, supporting a small group—approximately seven students—within a private special education setting. Here, you'll provide instruction, guidance, and individualized support that truly makes a difference.

In this position, you’ll collaborate with other dedicated educators, therapists, and support staff to create effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and positive classroom environments. Your expertise will help foster both academic and social growth for students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher (CT SPED) license required
• Proven experience working with students in special education settings
• Knowledge of current special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to adapt lessons for individualized and group instruction
• Committed to professional collaboration and continuous learning

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and update IEPs tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
• Deliver engaging instruction and adapt curriculum materials appropriately
• Track progress and create comprehensive student reports
• Collaborate with families and fellow educators on student goals
• Contribute to a supportive, positive, and safe classroom environment
