Yoh is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate, Lipid Nanoparticle Formulation to join our client’s Delivery Sciences team and support the development of lipid nanoparticle delivery systems for nucleic acid-based therapeutics. This laboratory-based role will focus on LNP formulation, downstream processing, analytical characterization, and process optimization for research and preclinical programs.  The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of LNP assembly via various mixing methods, expertise in downstream purification, and hands-on experience with advanced analytical characterization techniques.

Location: South San Francisco
Duration: 3+ month contract with ability to convert to permanent
Shift: M-F day shift 
Pay: $45-60/hr DOE 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, purify, and characterize LNP formulations for nucleic acid delivery.
• Develop and optimize lipid compositions, formulation parameters, purification workflows, and analytical methods.
• Support LNP production at multiple scales for in vitro and preclinical studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional research, product development, and preclinical teams to meet program requirements.
• Analyze complex experimental results and use the findings to guide formulation and process-development decisions.
• Anticipate future material and equipment needs, coordinate procurement, and help maintain laboratory readiness.
• Document methods, experiments, and results accurately in an electronic laboratory notebook.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical biology, or a related scientific discipline, with at least two years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on experience formulating LNPs containing different lipid components for nucleic acid delivery.
• Experience with downstream purification methods such as tangential flow filtration, dialysis, ultracentrifugation, and sterile filtration.
• Experience with relevant analytical techniques, which may include DLS, chromatography-based methods, capillary electrophoresis, fragment analysis, osmolality, MALS, ELISA, and fluorescence-based plate assays.
• Strong experimental documentation, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting preclinical or clinical-stage drug product development.
• Familiarity with liver-directed delivery or hepatocyte-based models.
• Experience with LNP surface modification, bioconjugation, or the addition of targeting ligands.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis or data visualization using tools such as R or Python.

Estimated Min Rate : $42.00
