Tool & Die Technician - 3rd Shift

3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday, 9:30PM - 5:30AM)

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of tooling for press equipment and fixtures for assembly equipment
• Sharpening and making shim sets for punches and dies
• Make replacement parts with laths, mills, grinders, etc. for tools, fixtures and equipment using drawings
• Ability to duplicate broken parts using no drawings
• Read and interpret tooling and fixture drawings for repairs and adjustments
• Routinely perform preventative maintenance on tooling and fixtures
• Properly document work workers for recordkeeping in the CMMS
• Use 5-Why Analysis to determine root cause analysis for tooling and fixtures issues and develop countermeasures to eliminate future issues
• Complete work while abiding by all safety standards
• Look up and order parts
• Utilize all communication channels such as phone, instant chat, email, face to face
• Utilize equipment such as forklift etc. to perform tasks
• Train employees on procedures and techniques
• Housekeeping and workstation organization tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Applicants must pass an entrance exam. The level at which one is hired (Technician vs. Mechanic) is determined based on educational requirements and experience.

3rd shift hours are approximately 9:30pm - 5:30am (Sun-Th). Employees may be asked to work or bumped to other shifts. 2nd shift hours are approximately 1:30pm - 9:30pm (M-F).

This position requires a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. All drug testing will be conducted in accordance with federal and state laws.

Qualifications

Required

Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 40lbs Ability to perform body movements including reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, turning, bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and fine manipulation Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day Ability to work with fiberglass, plastic, glue, and insulation Must be able to read and write accurately to document incoming/outgoing materials and supplies Ability to use various hand and machine tools used in tooling and fixture work Must be proficient in Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Must be aware of Hazard Communication and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Ability to read tooling and fixture drawings Familiar with the use of a CNC mills, surface grinders, and machining methods Knowledge and experience in draw dies, progressive dies, and blanking dies Experience with maintenance of and troubleshooting of tooling and fixtures

Preferred

Journeyman Tool & Die Certificate, equivalent trade school degree, or two years related machine shop experience. Experience with a CMMS
