Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Job Summary

Join our dedicated nursing team as a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in Kealakekua, Hawaii. This role is crucial for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with a variety of medical-surgical conditions, including those requiring cardiac monitoring and post-operative orthopedic care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient response to therapy, promptly reporting any changes in condition.
• Provide post-operative care for orthopedic patients, including pain management and mobility assistance.
• Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medication management, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a Medical Surgical Telemetry, Med-Surg Ortho, or Med-Surg Adult unit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
