Prep Cook The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food and serving customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The focus is to prepare the items on production sheets, complete documentation, reporting, and logs, and serve customers efficiently and friendly in accordance with the organizational mission statement, values, and goals. Responsibilities Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef. Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes. Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Taste completed meals to ensure quality. Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use. Store, label, and date all food items according to policy and HACCP guidelines. Complete all required documentation, reports, and logs. Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures. Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time. Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner. Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations. Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control. Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply. Resolve customer concerns. Perform other job duties that may be assigned. Qualifications Communication and customer service skills, good hand‑eye coordination. Ability to follow written and oral directions. Ability to use standard measures required. High school diploma or GED (preferred). 1–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food Handler’s Permit from applicable state and county. ServSafe training and certificate as required by applicable state and county. Physical Requirements No specific requirements for remaining in a stationary position.
