NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications:

HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 7 year(s) in driving school buses, transit buses, shuttle buses, large passenger vans, or a single vehicle with a gross weight of 26,001 pounds or over

• Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
• Experience required with Windows

Duties:

Supporting need to drive visitors to/from park sites for Eugene O?Neill National Historic Site, John Muir National Historic Site, Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial, and Rosie the Riveter / WWII Home Front National Historical Park.

• Driving park visitors to Eugene O?Neill National Historic Site from to and from meeting point in downtown Danville, CA to the park site for regular tours on Saturdays and Sundays.   60%
• Driving park visitors to Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial from the meeting site in Martinez, CA to the memorial site for regular tour.   30%
• Driving park visitors from Rosie the Riveter / WWII Home Front National Historical Park visitor center in Richmond, CA other park sites within Richmond for tours.   10%

• Required Certifications: Must possess a current Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
• Physical requirements: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Operates vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads and is exposed to the danger of serious accidents Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
