Job Overview Primary city/state: Phoenix, Arizona. Department: Angiography-Hosp. Work shift: Monday through Friday, four days a week with 10‑hour shifts, call required. Position: Neuro Interventional Radiology Technologist at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. Responsibilities Perform neuro-interventional procedures such as mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke, AVM and aneurysm treatments, intracranial angioplasty, stenting, flow diversion, coil embolization, and advanced neurovascular interventions. Support interventional radiology with liver‑directed therapies (Y90, embolization, TACE) and trauma and emergent IR procedures. Execute complex vascular and image‑guided interventions. Prepare and manage wires, catheters, and advanced devices in real time; anticipate physician needs during high‑acuity cases. Operate and troubleshoot advanced imaging systems and C‑arms; maintain optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA standards. Maintain sterile technique in complex procedural settings. Respond to emergent neuro and IR cases; demonstrate rapid decision‑making in time‑sensitive scenarios. Support a team committed to excellence in patient outcomes. Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements. Core Functions Perform radiographic diagnostic/interventional procedures according to protocols and verify referring provider orders. Educate patients and families about procedures and provide professional conduct in all interactions. Produce high‑quality images, present them with patient information, and maintain accurate documentation. Demonstrate competency in invasive/interventional procedures such as mechanical thrombectomy, intra‑arterial thrombolysis, arteriovenous fistula/malformation treatments, carotid and vertebral artery procedures, intracranial angioplasty, coil embolization, and cerebral/spinal angiography. Operate all C‑arms in OR suites and troubleshoot equipment issues. Adhere to radiation safety policies and maintain a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Maintain confidential work information and uphold ethical and professional responsibilities. Ensure efficient workflow; monitor inventory of supplies to avoid service interruption. Qualifications Certificate or diploma from an approved radiologic technology program. National certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure if applicable. Advance certification in a specialty from an accrediting body within 18 months of hire (or equivalent experience for cath-lab roles). BLS certification. Minimum of two years clinical experience with demonstrated competency in neuro-interventional procedures.
