Show Dog Care Specialist/Kennel Technician

Job Description

Job Description

Kennel Technician / Show Dog Care Specialist.

Location: Wimauma, FL | Part-Time | Morning, Afternoon & Weekend Shifts.

Love working with dogs? Join a unique, professional show dog program where exceptional animal care is our top priority.

We're looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking individual to join our small, dedicated team in Wimauma, Florida.

Our program is home to approximately 12 beautiful Kuvasz, a large European livestock guardian breed. These dogs compete at the highest levels of the show world, and we're proud to provide them with exceptional care in our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility.

Unlike a busy boarding kennel or dog daycare, our facility offers a smaller, more personalized environment where you'll have the opportunity to get to know the dogs individually and play an important role in their daily care and well-being.

• Providing daily hands-on care, including feeding, fresh water, exercise, and enrichment.
• Keeping our beautiful facility exceptionally clean, organized, and comfortable for the dogs.
• Spending time with the dogs and helping maintain their daily routines.
• Observing each dog's health, behavior, and overall well-being.
• Assisting with basic handling and general kennel operations.
• Working alongside our team to maintain the high standards of care our dogs deserve.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the little details, and understands that caring for animals is a responsibility—not just a job.

Our ideal candidate is:

• Dependable: You show up on time, follow through, and can be counted on.
• Hardworking: You're comfortable with the physical aspects of animal care, including cleaning and working on your feet.
• Attentive: You notice when something isn't quite right and take initiative.
• Patient and compassionate: You genuinely enjoy working with dogs and understand that every dog has its own personality.
• Confident and safety-conscious: You're comfortable working around large, powerful dogs and following established handling procedures.
• Eager to learn: You appreciate constructive feedback and want to develop your animal care skills.

Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, grooming salon, or other professional animal care environment is preferred, but we're willing to consider the right individual with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Reliable transportation is required.

• A unique working environment: Be part of a successful, internationally recognized show dog program.
• Beautiful facilities: Work in a brand-new, modern kennel designed around the comfort and care of our dogs.
• A smaller, more personal setting: Get to know the dogs you care for instead of managing large numbers of unfamiliar animals.
• Hands-on experience: Gain valuable knowledge about professional canine care, handling, and the world of competitive show dogs.
• A team that values quality: Work in an environment where attention to detail, responsibility, and excellent animal care truly matter.

We're currently looking for additional help with:

• Afternoon Shifts (every day).
• Tuesday and Wednesday morning and afternoon shifts.

Please include your general availability when applying.

Staring rate is $16/hour, but can quickly raise from that after training.

If you're dependable, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in providing excellent care for animals, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us a little about yourself, your experience with dogs, and why this position interests you!
