Location: 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220 Job Description Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health | Full Time Day Shift | $5k Sign-On Bonus Work Schedule Full Time - 72 hours bi-weekly 7:00 am – 7:30 pm 3rd or 4th Weekend rotation Holiday rotation Welcome to the Inpatient Behavioral Health Services Units 10fg and 10hi at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital, where we specialize in providing compassionate and comprehensive care for adults aged 18 and up. Our unit operates on an acute crisis stabilization model to provide urgent care to regain stability and well-being. Our multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Acute Care Technicians (ACTs). The team works collaboratively to tailor care to each patient’s needs. Unit Details We have a dedicated 10-bed geriatric space focusing on dementia and cognitive impairment, and 28 other beds for adults experiencing depression and other mental illnesses. Typical patient stays are 5–7 days. Staffing includes RNs, LPNs, ACTs, therapists, and social workers, with day, evening, and night shifts and twelve-hour shifts. A twelve-hour shift every third weekend is available, with a weekend option for those who prefer it. The average patient-to-staff ratio is 1:5. We welcome new graduates who are eager to learn in a supportive environment. Orientation & Training We offer a 5–6 week orientation that can be shortened or extended based on learning needs. All new team members attend CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) de-escalation training offered by TriHealth. Please view our benefits page: Job Requirements Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) Registered Nurse Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle Preferred membership in related professional organization Relevant Psych/Behavioral Health RN experience strongly preferred but not required Preferred certification in specialty Job Responsibilities Perform and document initial and ongoing patient/family assessments Develop, communicate, and update individualized plans of care, including discharge planning Provide safe, patient-centered care that supports autonomy, dignity, and diversity Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested Other Job-Related Information The TriHealth Nursing Vision, Mission, and Philosophy emphasize professional development, collaboration, and our nursing culture.
