Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU setting with an average daily census of 16, managing common diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, stroke, sepsis, respiratory distress, renal failure, and heart failure
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation agents
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment; tele tech oversight is also in place
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
• Float to PCU or occasionally Med/Surg as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required for contract continuation
• Minimum of 2 holidays falling within the contract period are required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a valid driver's license will be required at time of submittal to verify eligibility
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with complex patient populations including post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular cases, and overdose/substance abuse
• Experience titrating a variety of drips in a high-acuity environment
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems
