Financial Analyst

Financial AnalystThe Financial Analyst role in the FP&A department works with directors and senior leadership team members to provide financial insights and recommendations that help drive company strategy and decision-making. The Financial Analyst prepares monthly financial reviews with deep dive ad hoc analytics to explain root causes for large variances. This position collaborates with department heads to plan annual budgets and perform ROI analytics on capital projects. In addition, the Financial Analyst helps maintain in-depth cash flow models used to support capital planning and strategic decision-making processes.Responsibilities:Recurring analysis of both financial and operational data on an ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basisContinually improve the analytics process to make it more efficient and effectiveCoordinate and work with cross-functional team members in business intelligence, finance and operations to establish and continuously improve the reporting processIdentify key business issues and opportunities and work efficiently and effectively towards achieving solutionsAssist in facilitating department level budgeting and forecast developmentMonitor department level budget to actual performance and effectively communicate the results to finance and operations leadershipIdentify root causes of budget to actual variances and implement effective corrective actionsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong analytical skillsAbility to pay attention to details while also understanding financial impacts at a macro levelAdvance MS Excel expertiseExposure to financial, labor and other operational modelingWorking understanding of GAAPExperience using tools such as Alteryx, Power BI and/or Vena a plusEducation and Requirements:Required:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or other related fields in BusinessPreferred:Retail, Restaurant or Convenience Store experience a plusThree years of experience in a financial or operations analyst role is a plusPassion for constant and continued learningPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
