Position Summary: Central State Bank, a family-owned, community bank with locations throughout the Corridor and Northeast Iowa is seeking a highly motivated Teller to serve customers primarily in our Cedar Rapids market. Our Tellers assist our customers with daily banking needs by processing transactions, answering questions, and opening accounts. Our Tellers are experts in the products we offer and the clients we serve. They assist our customers in identifying which of our products best fits their financial needs and the right person on our team who can assist them with achieving their financial goals. Our Tellers are detail-oriented individuals who value forming relationships and are comfortable interacting with customers to identify ways we can serve them better. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service, proactive communication, and ongoing financial conversations. Open, service, and maintain consumer deposit accounts while ensuring all required documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately. Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships through referrals, cross-selling, and promotion of Bank products and services. Assist customers with account maintenance, digital banking enrollment, online and mobile banking support, and other service requests. Resolve customer issues and concerns professionally while balancing customer needs with Bank policies and risk management practices. Assist with small business banking needs and direct customers to appropriate business banking resources when necessary. Participate in customer outreach efforts, relationship reviews, community activities, and branch sales initiatives to support growth objectives. Maintain a thorough understanding of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, including BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, privacy, information security, and fraud prevention requirements. Accurately complete operational and transactional activities while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and customer confidentiality. Previous banking experience preferred but not required. Experience in a front-line sales or service position a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities. Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to build long-term customer relationships and expand existing relationships through needs-based conversations.
