Nursing: Registered Nurse (Rn) - Progressive Care Unit (Pcu) - Travel

Travel Stepdown RN Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota. Responsibilities Provide care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care. Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations. Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify the supervisor or physician of the patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions. Respond to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies. Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN. Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Physical and Mental Requirements Physical: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Technical/motor: Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental: Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must work under close supervision occasionally and also work independently.
