Data Analyst

Looking for a data-driven individual who can analyze big data and create insights through aggregation and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of relational databases, query development and experience with medical claim data. This individual will provide support to internal Business Owners and Business Leads in delivery of key strategic initiatives and will support and evaluate performance of external providers in value-based care arrangements. Data trends and insights will be used to influence innovative programs and strategies that aim to improve health outcomes and lower health care costs for our members.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize SQL coding skills to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from various sources to derive actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Perform ad-hoc data analyses and reporting tasks to support business operations, strategic initiatives, and decision-making processes.
• Create visually compelling and easy-to-understand dashboards, reports, and presentations using Excel and other data visualization tools.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to uncover opportunities, and communicate insights that may address challenges and optimize business performance.
• Conduct thorough data cleaning, preparation, validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical findings.
• Utilize basic PowerPoint knowledge to create presentations for communicating analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate people, process, and technology resources are made available to drive success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Analytics or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio required
• Proficiency in SQL coding, with hands-on experience writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting errors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, pivot tables, formulas, and macros.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikSense is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate results.
