Cardio Thoracic Technologist

The Cardio Thoracic Technologist is responsible for moderately complex Point of Care Laboratory testing.

Responsibilities:

• Cardiovascular functions and tasks associated with the performance of routine duties as they relate to patients experiencing surgical and peri-surgical procedures.
• Assisting Anesthesiologist with patient monitoring, and invasive line insertions.
• Knowledge of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump to assist upon insertion, monitoring and maintenance. Familiar with sterile procedures and the OR environment
• Overseeing and Supervising Laboratory Technicians insuring the proper performance of laboratory procedures
• The Stocking of supplies for Cardio-Thoracic Anesthesia, CT Lab, and invasive line carts for CTICU. Area of services provided by the CT Lab: OR, PACU, CTICU.
• Participates in the "on call" schedule.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, ASCP preferred
• BLS required
• Basic computer skills
• Able to perform moderately complex testing
• 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience preferred subsequent to qualifying of which at least two years have been spent working in a clinical laboratory, having a director at the doctoral level

Posted Salary Range

USD $71.77 - USD $71.77 /Hr.
