Advocacy & Recruitment Specialist Remote Patient Experience JOB SUMMARY The Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist is responsible for establishing credible and mutually beneficial partnerships with rare and chronic disease advocacy groups, identifying patients and caregivers for various story-sharing opportunities, and for contributing content to our online media platform. The Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist must be able to incorporate the unique patient/caregiver experience into the strategies and solutions we provide to our clients. The Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patient leads, which requires excellent listening and communication skills, and be able to develop relationships with patients and caregivers which convey compassion while maintaining professional boundaries.

It is most likely that you will come in contact with personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI) of patients living with rare and chronic illnesses. The Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist will be required to successfully complete and adhere to training courses which may include, but are not limited to:

The Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist will be required to successfully complete and adhere to training courses which may include, but are not limited to:
- Snow Policies and Procedures
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Privacy and Data Security
- Adhere to standard processes, demonstrate strong communication skills, and maintain excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of HIPAA privacy guidelines and maintain all contracts, health records and personal information in accordance with these guidelines
- Develop strong partnerships with your internal team and other departments
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with other departments related to all recruitment engagement, training and performance evaluation
- Identify and suggest methods to improve process and efficiency for the team
- Analyze internal utilization needs to develop new initiatives or modify and improve existing initiatives in partnership with the Recruitment team to meet client objectives
- Update standard operating procedures on a regular basis to reflect changes in initiatives, policies and procedures, and ensure timely communication of these updates
- The primary job functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed
- Understand the disease category and criteria need associated with each campaign
- Establish strong relationships with prospective patients to encourage participation in the recruitment process
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion in all patient/caregiver direct communications
- Identify and source prospective patient candidates through online channels and social media platforms
- Build upon established professional relationships to support recruitment and engagement initiatives
- Develop proficiency in Salesforce to support accurate data collection, patient tracking, and comprehensive reporting
- Conduct thorough vetting and prescreening of prospective patients
- Maintain accurate and timely progress tracking within shared documentation systems
- Initiate and conduct outreach to support and advocacy groups to expand recruitment networks and patient engagement opportunities
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external contributors
- Working knowledge of common social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, X and Pinterest
- Ability to adapt to new electronic, technological and social medial tools that increase efficiency, accuracy and relevancy
- Effective understanding of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of standard editing applications or tools like Canva, Adobe and Shutterstock
- Creates and delivers well-constructed communication
- Respond to leadership and client inquiries in a timely manner (acknowledging receipt and fulfillment of request)
- Ability to effectively listen and respond accordingly
- Be sensitive and empathetic toward patients and families struggling with rare and chronic diseases
- Tech-savvy and knowledgeable of equipment and programs used for online publishing, screen shares and conference calls
- Able to manage multiple lines of communication and work in both independent (remote) and collaborative environments
- Understand media and technology, especially the health/medical and rare and chronic disease landscapes
- Strong communication skills, online media skills and ability to quickly connect with individuals for content and recruitment purposes
- Strong writing skills
- Passion for following media and researching trends
- Positive attitude, personable and easy to work with
- Ability to multitask and work on tight deadlines
- Ability to work on both long- and short-term schedules and adapt to last-minute changes with ease
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Ability to anticipate hurdles and overcome them quickly and effectively
- Ability to lead a team in pursuing multiple projects and initiatives
- Detail-oriented and excellent time-management skills
- Ability to think quickly and make decisions about allocating resources to positively impact the business
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively communicate and collaborate in a team environment
