Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Medical Unit (Telemetry)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Cardiac Medical Unit serving cardiac step-down, med/surg telemetry, and stroke overflow patients
• Manage patients with conditions including chest pain rule-out, CHF, COPD, and cardiac management needs
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and kangaroo pumps
• Assist with and monitor procedures including thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, cardiac catheterization, and CIWA protocol
• Manage chest tubes and support patients requiring cardiac cath (radial artery approach only)
• Perform bedside shift rounds and handoff communication in accordance with patient experience standards

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience with Meditech Expanse or comparable electronic documentation systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac step-down or telemetry setting
• Familiarity with CIWA protocol, BiPAP management, and tracheostomy care
• Experience in a Stroke Center, STEMI-designated, or Level II Trauma Center environment
