Job Summary:

Centralized Patient Transport performs direct and indirect patient care activities as assigned. Transports patients via wheelchairs, stretcher or as an escort in cases where the patient is ambulatory, to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed, appropriately closing tasks and while observing all safety regulations. Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher. Prepares patient transport equipment for patient use by cleaning surfaces and changing linens. Verifies patient name, destination and mode of travel, while considering time sensitivity. Transports patients within the hospital system in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, while using the appropriate ergonomic physical movement techniques. Obtains/record/exchange information for the patient. Provides basic patient care, transports equipment and patients, assumes primary responsibility for daily inventory of all patient care related supplies; responds to changing patient needs; maintains a safe work environment; communicates effectively with members of the health care team; maintains positive public relations.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Direct or indirect nursing care experience required. Excellent customer service skills are necessary. Must demonstrate ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to use proper lifting techniques. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for long periods of time.

Work Days: 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday
Pay - $20.00/hr
