Apply today and become part of a company where your skills and dedication are valued.Job DescriptionThe basic functions of our Sprinkler Technician will be to service and repair wet, dry and pre-action fire suppression systems, and to conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler suppression systems, including repair and testing of backflow preventers. Our ideal candidate will be customer focused and able to work diligently whether part of a team or individually.ResponsibilitiesConduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler suppression systems.Manual labor including lifting, climbing and clean up.Service and repair of wet, dry and pre-action fire suppression systems in strict accordance with applicable codes and standards.Flow testing of fire hydrants.Highly organized, motivated team player.Preferred experience in testing and repairing backflow prevention devices.Interact with customers in a professional manner.Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed.Other duties and responsibilities when assigned as needed.Punctual, reliable.Have the ability to work safely with a threading machine, battery operated hand tools, and basic hand tools regularly.Ability the read blueprints.Clear communication and exemplary customer service a must.Able to diagnose all types of sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflow assemblies and know how they operate.Ability to complete paperwork thoroughly such as work orders, time cards, driving records. Also have the ability to work an iPad or laptop with blueprint software a plus.Ability to safely and precisely shut down and diagnose various fire protection systems and their impairments. Knowledge on how to repair deficiencies and return the system back to working order to ensure customer compliance.Minimum RequirementsMinimum 3 years, independent field experience.Experience with Fire Protection Systems and components.Mechanically inclined.Strong attention to detail.Valid driver's license.Positive attitude and willingness to obtain progressive certifications within the industry and NFPA applicable permitting and licensing.Prefer intermediate sprinkler layout understanding.Ability to complete accurate and timely maintenance and work records, both written and electronically.A willingness to work hard and learn.The ability to thoroughly complete all required paperwork.Able to deliver excellent customer service.Problem solving skills, independently and as part of a team.Able to complete assignments with minimal supervision.Practices safe work practices per OSHA requirements.Must be a self-starter.Physical RequirementsCapable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activitiesAbility to work flexible hours.Why FSP?Supportive Culture: We value our employees and provide ongoing training.
