About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Cardiology Position Profession: Clinical Services Specialty: Cardiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: WI License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; RCIS Preferred Must-Have: Cath Lab and Peripheral experience Hybrid experience preferred but not required Experience with consciousness sedation and drip management Skills in scrubbing and panning for RTR Description: This is a fast-paced, high-acuity Cath Lab. The facility performs between 24-40 cases a day. The patient population includes adults only. Experience with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO is preferred. Candidates should also have experience with peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases. Hybrid experience with AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, and Watchman procedures is beneficial but not mandatory. Patient ratios are typically 1:1. Permanent staff will monitor cases. Support on the unit includes housekeeping for room turnover and storeroom staff managing supplies. Transporters will be available during the day, as well as a receptionist. Charge nurses and lead techs will provide assistance but will attempt to stay out of cases. Registered Technologists will be available 24/7 and will manage vents for any vented patients. Clientists will be onsite 24/7 along with in-house cardiology staff. A Critical Response Team will be available for emergencies. Charting systems and equipment used include EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis. C-arms utilized are from GE, with additional equipment such as Volcano and St. Jude devices. Familiarity with hemodynamic systems and IABPs is a plus. No floating will be required for this position. Scheduled shifts may vary between 8-hour or 12-hour to meet weekly requirements. Weekend call may be scheduled approximately every 2-3 months. In this scenario, the traveler may be on call from Friday to the following Friday. Response time for call should not exceed 30 minutes. Staff are expected to adhere to a fatigue policy and cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. Scrub colors will be provided. Typically, staff do not work on holidays.
