About the Role

Broth Agency is a fast-moving, creatively driven agency that thrives on collaboration, resourcefulness, and delivering exceptional work for our clients. We’re looking for a Group Copy Lead who can take ownership of a brand (or brands) from a copy and creative standpoint, and who brings the writing craft, strategic instincts, and leadership presence to guide both the work and the people doing it.

This is a hands-on writer-leader role: you’ll shape creative briefs and strategy, bring unexpected ideas to client problems, and consistently push for creative excellence in your own work and your team’s. In some cases, you’ll delegate to junior writers and freelancers, supervise, mentor, and coach. You will be a vocal, trusted presence in client meetings and cross-functional collaboration with Account, PM, Editorial, and Medical.

What You’ll Do

Creative & Copy Ownership

\n

\n
• Owns brand(s) from a copy/creative perspective—data, annotations, guidelines, creative, and the broader category.
\n
• Anticipates client needs and comes prepared with solutions.
\n
• Is beginning to shape strategy and creative briefs.
\n
• Regularly brings unexpected creative solutions to client asks and problems.
\n
• Is a proven and reliable conceptor.
\n
• Pushes creative excellence within their own work and inspires it in others.
\n
• Actions on creative direction effectively and consistently.
\n

Team Leadership & Mentorship

\n

\n
• Knows when and how to delegate work to junior team members, and oversees freelancers, as needed.
\n
• Supervises, mentors, and coaches team members.
\n
• Helps the team think in more interesting and creative ways.
\n

Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

\n

\n
• Collaborates comfortably and consistently with cross-functional peers (Editorial, Copy, Account, PM, Medical, etc.).
\n
• Actively and vocally participates in client meetings, representing Writing.
\n
• Attends in-person and remote client meetings.
\n

Experience & Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
\n
• 6+ years of copywriting experience in an advertising or marketing agency, including experience leading or mentoring junior writers.
\n
• Proven ability to own the copy and creative direction for one or more brands, including data, annotations, guidelines, and category expertise.
\n
• Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills, with experience contributing to creative briefs and brand strategy.
\n
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across a range of tactics and channels.
\n
• Experience presenting and defending creative work directly to clients.
\n
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Account, PM, Editorial, Medical, and other departments.
\n
• Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences agency experience required; including familiarity with MLR/PRC review process
\n
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple brands or projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
\n
• A collaborative, mentorship-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in developing junior talent.
