Job TitleBusiness Analyst for Veterinary Science LabsJob Description:The On-Premise environmental monitoring platform is out of support and obsolete. This is a critical capability in the support of Veterinary Sciences monitoring and control. To ensure consistent support and future enhancement of laboratory environmental monitoring, we need to move to a modern cloud-based SaaS platform. This project will support Veterinary Science labs in central NJ, Redwood City California, position for new capabilities implementation in San Diego & Brisbane California.ResponsibilitiesIT Business Analysis:Work with Informatics teams, IT Quality Management and CSV peers, and Research Scientific groups to plan Business Analysis activities and refine project planCoordinate stakeholder assessments and management of stakeholders/sponsorsAct as a liaison to ensure shared understanding, manage expectations, and resolve any conflicts or ambiguities related to requirementsCollaborate with Informatics teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholder scientific groups to understand, gather, and validate formal business requirementsUnderstand the workflows, processes, and datasets involved in the various business processes and their evolution in a data-centric environmentGenerate cohesive documentation of:Business processes / process maps (As Is To Be)Requirements documents (BRDs) & Use casesValidation requirements & specificationFunctional / Non-Functional and Technical specifications; inclusive of Agile representation (EPICS, User Stories, Issues, etc.)UAT Test plans & scripts; inclusive of execution & validationIdentify instances where existing processes may be streamlined or improvedManage and maintain all requirements materials and traceability matricesMaintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, requirements, design documentsCapture and manage clear mapping of business rules, security, and data governance needsDevelop UAT plans, test cases, and scenarios based on requirementsConduct UAT, facilitate defect tracking, and ensure that the developed data product meets user expectationsSupport agile approaches and participate in lessons learned sessions and provide feedback to improve future data product development processesArticulate and communication requirements to development teamsCollaborate with digital capability managers, architects, and vendor engineers to ensure successful deployment of an effective, usable, and trustworthy productAssist with communication to business & stakeholder management activitiesAssist informatics team and project sponsor in executing a communication and change management strategy in support of project execution and rolloutStrong skills in building and maintaining successful networks and relationships with key leaders across a single functional area to ensure IT projects are supported and successfully deliveredOrganizes and presents ideas in a convincing and compelling mannerPersuades and influences others with effective verbal and written communicationUnderstands the value of process-centric approach to business analysis and capability developmentCommand of project management techniques and toolsDevelops or modifies moderately complex information systems documentation and conveys this information to technical team for translation into programming languages or implements into COTS technologiesIdentifies process, technology and organizational role changes necessary to support business goals and objectivesExperience in leading business process re-engineering efforts for at least one medium-to-large software projectMin 3 years of project management experiences, i.e. understanding the business need, defining a creative and useful software solution, and promoting the product to the user community and managementUnderstanding of business strategy development techniques
