Role Description
This is a full-time remote or hybrid role based in San Diego, CA. The Design Manager will lead a team in designing solar PV, battery storage, and related systems for various building types, collaborating with engineering and construction teams to deliver efficient and high-quality designs. Daily responsibilities include managing design workflows, overseeing design submissions, reviewing technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards. Additionally, the Design Manager will provide mentorship to junior designers and continuously refine processes to optimize efficiency and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Solar PV Design, Electrical Design, and understanding of Battery Storage Systems
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and relevant PV system design tools
- Project management skills, including workflow management, team leadership, and task delegation
- Knowledge of local building codes and industry standards for solar energy systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and optimize designs
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Experience working in both in-office and remote work settings is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Renewable Energy, or related field preferred
- Professional certifications in solar design or project management are a plus
