Inventory Control Clerk (Forklift Operator) - 1st shift

Shift Schedule Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm Pay $20.00 per hour. Certified/Qualified Cherry Picker drivers receive an additional $0.50 per hour. Job Purpose The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager on inventory related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment and parts in stockroom, warehouse or yard. This position may transfer once a new building opens. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory. Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations daily. Inputs inventory control data accurately to ensure inventory integrity. Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommends remedial actions. Other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager. Additional Responsibilities Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence. Ensures compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically counts articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Utilizes computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1-3 months related experience or training in Inventory Control. Minimum 1-3 months related experience or training in a warehouse environment. Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English. Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift. Experience using WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database. Education and/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents. Ability to read and write emails. Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Forklift certification is a plus. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Solves practical problems and deals with variable situations where limited standardization exists. Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determines root cause of problem and recommends corrective action. Computer Skills Uses Microsoft Office Suite to write emails and create or interpret reports. Physical Demands May lift and/or move up to 55 pounds occasionally. Can stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Utilizes keyboards and buttons for telephone systems. Conveys clear communication orally. Regularly works in indoor office environment requiring repeated hand motion. Talks, hears, stands, and walks frequently. Can work more than 8 continuous hours when required. Maintains accuracy under stress with good cognitive skills and multitasking ability. Has 20/20 corrected vision for reading visual images. Communicates clearly over telephony. In sound physical health per physician, no controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
