Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM / 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed Stepdown unit serving a diverse patient population including young adults through geriatrics with diagnoses such as sepsis, STEMI, CHF, stroke, COPD, DKA, renal failure, and complex multisystem conditions
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin; administer maintenance IV medications
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:4–5, with CNA support at a 1:10 ratio; participate in bedside report and hourly rounding
• Support high-volume patient flow including admissions and discharges within the same shift
• Float as needed to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Valid driver's license (required at time of submittal)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting with exposure to titratable drip management
• Experience with BiPAP and Airvo respiratory equipment
• Strong teamwork orientation with a positive, patient-centered approach to care
