Opportunity Overview
This position offers a chance to collaborate with a prestigious transplant team, managing a varied group of patients across transplant, hepatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, nephrology, and general internal medicine. The role involves integrating general and perioperative medicine, liver disorders, complex gastrointestinal issues, advanced heart failure, specialty cardiac care, and management of end-organ diseases, all aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction and outcomes. You will supervise the care of medically intricate patients while closely coordinating with a comprehensive range of consult services, an exceptional radiology department, and an engaged inpatient pharmacy team.
The service load is structured to ensure a healthy work-life balance, allowing for thoughtful and thorough patient care at our flagship hospital. This facility has been recognized as a top hospital by the Leapfrog Group and has received accolades as the best hospital in the Bay Area according to a San Francisco Chronicle reader survey, as well as being named the 'Healthiest Hospital in America' by Natural Health magazine.
1.0 FTE corresponds to 10 shifts per month (typically a pattern of 5 days on followed by 10 days off)
Weekday shifts are 12 hours long (8 PM to 8 AM)
Weekend shifts are 14 hours (6 PM to 8 AM)
eHospitalist coverage from 6 PM to 2 AM
No rounding required in a closed ICU

Qualifications
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Possession of an active and unrestricted California Medical License
Experience in tertiary care medicine is highly desirable
