PainterLocation: Lansing, MI - Alaiedon Township, MIFulltimePosition OverviewThe Painter position is responsible for all aspects of painting both the interiors and exteriors of structures, buildings, and other surfaces. This position will select the appropriate materials for each project and properly prepare surfaces and surrounding areas prior to painting. Attention to detail and pride in workmanship are essential to ensure high-quality results.Key ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints, instructions, and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessaryMake on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and covering fixturesPrepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and taping off areas as requiredFill cracks and holes with appropriate materialsMix paint and other materials to achieve the correct color and texturePaint surfaces according to specifications using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other toolsApply varnishes, sealants, and other finishesAdhere to all company health and safety regulationsMaintain clean and organized job sites and company vehiclesParticipate in after-hours emergency on-call rotationOther projects and duties as assignedExperience and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1+ years of professional painting experienceSolid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniquesConstruction, restoration, or insurance industry experience preferredStrong attention to detail and quality workmanshipEnglish language literacy and communication skills requiredAbility to multitask in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to work under time constraints and meet deadlinesValid driver's license requiredAdditional RequirementsMust be able to pass a background checkClean driving record requiredMust be authorized to work in the United StatesPhysical RequirementsOccasional lifting from 5–40 lbs. unassistedAbility to sit, stand, bend, crouch, and move throughout the workday as neededManual dexterity required for repetitive tasks and use of painting tools/equipmentReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Compensation and BenefitsOur Client offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.Pay range: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience levelAverage production employee works approximately 45 hours per weekOvertime opportunities availableMandatory on-call rotation required After-hours calls earn an additional: $25 per call Monday–Friday$50 per call on weekendsAdditional on-call compensation is paid on top of the employee's hourly rateCompany-provided branded work van assigned for business useDisclaimerThe statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.Our Client is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
