$43,645 to $57,830; Depending on qualifications Job Description Chesapeake Juvenile Services is seeking an organized, detail oriented individual to provide accounting and administrative support. In this role, you will review accounts payable documents for accuracy and support essential financial, payroll, and administrative processes that help keep Juvenile Services running smoothly. Duties and responsibilities include: Reviewing accounts payable documents for accuracy and completeness. Assisting with payroll processing, timekeeping, and related responsibilities. Processing accounts receivable in accordance with the City's accounting procedures. Supporting administrative functions related to Human Resources. Processing background paperwork. Completing technical and statistical reports. Preparing reports and documents for publication, ensuring proper formatting and presentation. Performing other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in accounting or a closely related field. Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience. Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record in compliance with the City Driving Standards . Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties. Preferred Qualifications Candidate must have knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred experience with city systems Mainframe, PeopleSoft, KRONOS and MUNIS .
