Job title: Piping Designer (CADWorx)

Job Description:

Join a collaborative engineering team where your designs directly impact real-world industrial projects. As a Piping Designer , you'll be responsible for developing precise piping layouts and models using AutoCAD and CADWorx , supporting projects from concept through construction. This role offers a mix of office-based design work and hands-on field exposure , giving you the opportunity to validate your work on-site and collaborate closely with engineers, drafters, and project teams.
We're looking for someone who is detail-driven, self-sufficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and draft 2D and 3D piping systems , including layouts, isometrics, and construction drawings
• Interpret P&IDs to develop accurate, constructible models
• Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMs), line lists, and tie-in lists
• Perform field walk-downs , take measurements, and develop field sketches
• Build equipment and piping models based on vendor drawings and specifications
• Utilize point cloud/laser scan data to generate highly accurate models
• Coordinate with structural and stress engineers to ensure design integrity and compliance
• Review and incorporate piping stress analysis results into designs
• Participate in design reviews, P&ID reviews, and project meetings
• Mentor junior designers and review work for accuracy and quality
• Track progress against project schedules and man-hour estimates
• Ensure designs meet safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability standards

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate or Technical degree ( Bachelor's preferred )
• Proven experience in piping design within an industrial environment
• Strong 3D modeling experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and P&IDs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred:

• Experience with CADWorx Plant Professional
• Familiarity with ReCap and point cloud modeling
• Knowledge of AISC and ASTM standards
• Understanding of construction, fabrication, and installation practices
• Experience working in both field and office settings

This is a Contract position based out of Colwich, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
