Resident Care Coordinator

The Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for medication management and direct care for residents, following individual service plans. Responsibilities Administer and manage medications as prescribed, monitor resident responses, and adhere to infection control protocols. Orient and train new Resident Medication Aides (RMAs) and Resident Assistants (RAs) through hands-on mentoring. Maintain accurate resident records, documenting medication distribution, health changes, and incidents in compliance with company policies. Coordinate with the Director of Resident Care (DRC) for staffing needs, assist in recruitment, and support teamwork among staff. Follow procedures in emergency situations and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance. Ensure the medicine supply room and medication area are organized and compliant with regulations. Assist with staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage per state regulations. Conduct medication audits, ensure timely refills, and maintain inventory. Facilitate training for new staff on medication administration and facility policies. Document shift reports and ensure effective communication during shift changes. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of experience in a senior living community. Delegated by a Registered Nurse for medication administration. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
