Department Summary

The Center for Equity Promotion (CEQP) is a research center and Grant Management Unit (GMU) within the College of Education (COE) at the University of Oregon (UO). The GMU provides pre-award and post-award grant administrative support to projects, centers, and institutes within the GMU, Center for Child Safety and Wellbeing (CSAW), as well as to other centers or institutes that require GMU assistance.

The Center for Equity Promotion research center collaborators have implemented interventions and contributed to innovative research in six countries, focusing on improving educational and health outcomes, decreasing youth violence, and facilitating family relationships with incarcerated parents and healthy reintegration after release.

CEQP is a diverse research unit comprising more than 10 Principal Investigators and Researchers, in tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty roles, supported by a business manager, officers of administration, classified staff, graduate employees, and temporary and student employees. The unit also engages courtesy research appointees and affiliates whose participation varies according to project needs.

The Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing (CSAW) collaborates with Oregon communities, youth, families, and traditionally excluded persons to prevent violence and promote healing, belonging, and child and youth wellbeing. Our research, evaluation, and programming efforts prioritize youth and survivor leadership, individual action-taking, social justice advocacy, and systems-level change.

Position Summary

The Center for Equity Promotion and the Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing at the UO at the University of Oregon are seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years.

Potential areas of research include: program development; statistical analyses related to all phases of preparation of scientific papers, presentations, and grant applications; staff professional development at project level; program evaluation and implementation science in human services; training and workforce development in human services systems; and off-site research activities with a variety of populations including persons with identified developmental disabilities or non-English speaking populations. In addition to the creation of population of databases required for research and evaluation projects.

Research Associates and Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct independent research and participate on research teams.


Research Assistants will conduct research under the direction of Research Associates and participate on research teams.

Some positions may require bilingual written and oral fluency.

Some positions may include overnight travel and/or extensive previous experience in a similar job role.

Minimum Requirements

Research Assistant Rank:
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related area
• Senior Assistant I rank requires a bachelor's degree AND 6+ years of experience

Research Associate Rank:
• Terminal degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area
• Senior Associate I rank requires a bachelor's degree AND 6+ years of experience

Postdoctoral Scholar:
• Doctorate degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area

• Demonstrated self-motivation and leadership capacity.
