Contract | Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Major Holiday Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions for obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and cesarean section settings
• Circulate and assist with cesarean sections; provide scrub assistance in deliveries as needed
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring, vaginal exams, and provide resuscitation and stabilization of the mother/fetal dyad
• Administer medications including magnesium sulfate safely and in accordance with established standards and policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care and advocate for patient and family needs
• Float within the New Life Center or to other Labor and Delivery units within the region as required

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia or covered by compact licensure
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience including antepartum, intrapartum, cesarean section, postpartum, and magnesium sulfate administration
• Hospital-based clinical experience required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience with C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record and Perinatal Centricity (QS) preferred
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification preferred
• Ability to scrub and assist in deliveries preferred
