Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of conditions including trauma, neurological emergencies, respiratory distress, behavioral health, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Perform and manage central line care, phlebotomy, IV insertion, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressor administration
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and monitor ventilated patients
• Administer blood products and provide care for CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic trauma patients
• Document accurately using EPIC and communicate effectively utilizing SBAR methodology; dispense medications via Pyxis

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required prior to submission
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center environment
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Proficiency with EPIC (hard requirement), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Patient ratio experience of 1:5; must be located more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
• TCAR certification
