Job Duties:

Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; spread manure; and transport crops and commodities to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, and mowers, ATV, pickups, farm trucks and semi-trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on farm and to storage facilities. Manure generated throughout the year is applied to crop fields to strict application and utilization plans. This job is responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning and operating all machinery and equipment used for the handling of manure. Liquid slurry manure is pumped into tanker applicators to be applied directly to crop fields or is pumped through an umbilical hose system utilizing pumps, tractors, and hoses to move the manure to the crop fields. Washing and disinfecting at the facilities where manure is removed may also be completed. Perform general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; and regularly servicing equipment. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Schedule and duties may vary depending on crop and field conditions. Work may include weekends, evenings, or overtime as necessary during peak periods. The employer will provide notice of schedule changes as far in advance as possible.

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 2 months of experience is required.

Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.

The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Must be able to obtain a driver's license in 30 days.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

No smoking in equipment, vehicles, fields or housing units.

Drinking of alcoholic beverages is prohibited during working hours and otherwise discouraged.

Compensation

$15.63 / Hourly

Additional Compensation

Employer guarantees to pay at least the AEWR but reserves the right to pay more based on tenure with the company, experience, skill, performance, attendance, and other factors.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
